Q1. I get a message saying that the password is wrong during SFTP.
Q2. I cannot upload/download a file.

Q1.Can I use my own original CGI?
For security reasons, you cannot use your own original CGI. We must ask you to use only the "Counter CGI" and "Form CGI" that we have made available for you.

Q2.Can I change the path name for the Homepage?
The path name for the Homepage cannot be changed.

Q3.Can I use it for commercial purposes?
It can only be used within the scope of the Service Agreement.

We are sorry, but you will have to upload the contents yourself. We can not upload the contents for you, so please do not send us the contents by E-mail, fax, etc..

Q6.Can I put a link to some other website on my Homepage? Do I need to get the consent from the owner of that website?
There are no rules. However, to be on the safe side it is a good idea to get consent from website owners.

Q7.Can I expand the amount of server disk space beyond 50M bytes for my User Homepage?
The maximum disk capacity assigned to each user is 50M bytes under the User Homepage Service, and cannot be expanded.

You cannot log on to our server with Telnet.

Please confirm the information on the "Confirmation of registered services" page.

Please check the capacity using software that supports SFTP.

Q11.Can I specify the Mime Type?
Normally, we set up parameters for the Mime type on the server side for you. If you wish to specify the Mime Type other than what has been set up, please provide the following information for us by E-mail.
  • Plug-In name
  • MIME type
  • Extension

Q1.I get a message saying that the password is wrong during SFTP.
Please check to see if the "upload.spinnet.jp" is specified as the host to which you upload, your mail address as the user name and your mail password as the password. Please do not confuse them with your Connect Login Name or Connect Password. ( Please see "how to upload". )

Q2.I cannot upload/download a file.
If a file ( directory ) name contains Japanese characters or a space, it cannot be uploaded/downloaded. Change the file name so that it consists only of alpha-numeric characters.

Q3.When I try to read my homepage with a browser, I get an error message like "Forbidden".
An error occurs because there are no file names named as index.html or index.htm in the specified directory. Upload an HTML file named as either index.html or index.htm to the top page, and try again.

Q4.When I try to read my homepage with a browser, I get an error message like "Not Found".
If you cannot read your homepage by typing in "http://given server name/given path/your user path name", check if a file suffixed with index.html is uploaded or not.
If a file to which there is a link does not exist or if a file name is not correct, an error may occur. With the WWW server, file names and directory names are case-sensitive.
In the case of the following, no link is established to another website. Actual file name index.html Hyperlink given in the HTML
<a href="INDEX.html"> <-file names are capital letters.

Q5.An image is not displayed.
The cause of the error is the same as in case of a link error ( "Not Found" Error ).
Check path name and file names.

Q6.An image is crushed.
When you have uploaded the image, the image file may not have been uploaded in the binary ( bin ) mode. Upload the image file again in the bin mode.

Q7.Letters in the text are converted into unreadable symbols and/or characters.
When you have uploaded the text, it may not have been uploaded in the ASCII mode. Upload the text file again in the ASCII mode.

Q8.The counter which uses an image that I created does not work.
If the image is an animated image, there is a chance that the counter does not work. Check if the link is set up correctly.

Q9.The same number appears in every page.
If you set the same counter image on more than one page, the counter image of the previous page may appear. This is caused by browser cache, so please push the [Reload] button.
