1. What is the Spamblocker? |
The Spamblocker is an E-mail filtering service used to automatically sort out unsolicited E-mail messages sent to you. For further details, access the "Spamblocker Page". It differs from "Mail filtering service" separately offered.
2. Are any special settings required? |
Simply apply for the service from the Customer Information Change Menu, and begin using it immediately. In addition to the SpinNet standard filtering setting, customers may also add more detailed settings of their own.
3. What is the difference between White List and Black List? |
When a domain name, such as spam.com, is registred in your Black List, any email with an address ending in that domain name will be automatically marked as spam.

The number of spam mails you receive is not decreased, we recommend to set spam sensitivity level to strong level.
And if you always receive spam mails from a same sender, add the email address (From:) in Black list.
Emails from the address you added in the list will be sorted into spam mail box automatically.
Please configure these in User's Information Change page (Spamblocker registration/configuration/cancellation ).
< Spoofed emails >
Spoofed email is a type of spam mails, and has a forged sender address.
If you wish to sort those into spam mail box, add the email address that is written on "Return-Path" line of the mail header into Black list.
When you keep receiving the same spam emails even after you added the address into the list, add the email address that is written on "Return-Path" line of the mail header into the list.
Please refer each software's guide to confirm a mail header, or ask software maker directly.
* You can use Mail Filtering Service together with Spamblocker.
8. What happens if E-mail is incorrectly sorted into the Spam Mail Box? |
Necessary E-mail placed in the Spam Mail Box may be restored to its original state by using the resend function. E-mail addresses of persons that you can always rely upon should be registered in the White List.
9. What if E-mail sent to my address doesn't reach me? |
In such cases, there is a possibility that the message has been sorted into the Spam Mail Box. Use the Web mail(MYHOME.mail) to resend the messages in the Spam Mail Box. When a sender's E-mail address is registered in the White List, messages from that sender will not be scanned by Spamblocker but instead sent directly to your address.

The latest registered setting will apply.
11. What will happen if contradicting domain and E-mail contents are registered on either the Black List or White List? |
In such cases, the address will be given priority. For example, if spinnet.jp is registered on the Black List and test@spinnet.jp is registered on the White List, test@spinnet.jp messages will normally arrive, while other mail (bound for spinnet.jp) will be sorted into the Spam Mail Box.

16. Can I use Mail Filtering Service concurrently with this system? |
Yes, you can. But please be careful not to have same condition with Mail Filtering Service.
16. Is it possible to confirm what E-mail messages have been deleted after the passage of 14 days? |
No. All messages in the Spam Mail Box are totally deleted after 14 days, and cannot be confirmed or restored thereafter. Although unlikely, it is possible that Spamblocker will incorrectly identify messages as spam. We recommend that you check your Spam Mail Box regularly.
18. How does the Spamblocker differ from regularly marketed spam E-mail troubleshooting software? |
The Spamblocker is bundled into the SpinNet E-mail server to process spam messages. There is no need for installation or complex settings, unlike most spam E-mail fighting software. In addition, because the processing is conducted on the server, it is effective for users who find that considerable time is required to download spam E-mail that they don't want to receive in the first place.
