"SpinPhone for FLET'S" is an IP-phone service provided for customers using NTT's FLET'S ADSL/B FLET'S/FLET'S HIKARI NEXT/FLET'S HIKARI PREMIUM service.
You can call between "SpinPhone for FLET'S" users as well as users of IP-phone services provided by the affiliated Internet Service Provider absolutely free of charge. "SpinPhone for FLET'S" also allows you to reduce the usage of your landline and decrease phone charges drastically.
There has been the service expansion for "SpinPhone for FLET'S" since November 1, 2003. Please check the "The party you can call" below.
NTT's FLET'S ADSL/B FLET'S/FLET'S HIKARI NEXT/FLET'S HIKARI PREMIUM service
1) Telephone (You can use your existing telephone)
2) Telephony Adapter provided by KDDI or IP telephone-enabled modem / router provided by NTT
3) Need to purchase / use rental IP Phone adapter by NTT East/ West
4) Computer
You can continue to use your existing NTT telephone number which will be mandatory when you need to call using a landline.
You will receive a new phone number which starts from "050" by postal mail.
Telephone number starting with 050 is the number not for fixed lines but for IP phones. 050 is not the subject of local number portability.
* You cannot choose the number.
Please use this number when you call between IP phones provided by the affiliated ISPs so that your calls will be free.
* New registration for SpinPhone optional services has been closed. Customers already using these services can use it continuously.
These services are effective to telephone numbers that start with 050.

Number Display Request
Calls which do not display the callers' telephone number will be rejected with the message "Please try again using the dialing procedure for identifying your telephone number".
2)
Call Rejection
Calls from the telephone number you specify will be rejected with the message "The number you have dialed has been rejected at the customer's request". You can specify up to 30 numbers.
About modifying configuration (for customers using the services)
You can modify your configuration through KDDI self page (Japanese only).
The following has become possible using SpinPhone since November 1, 2003.
Call between SpinPhone (KDDI-IP) and cell phone/PHS.
Call from your landing to SpinPhone (KDD-IP) and 050 numbers provided by other ISPs.
Call to the numbers adding "184"/ "186" to control the number display.
If you are using Telephony Adapter sent by KDDI before November 1, 2003, you will need to upgrade your Telephony Adapter to use new functions. Please click here for the upgrading of TA.

You can call 177 for the weather forecast through SpinPhone by dialing area code first.
IP phone goes through a different network from your existing landline, but you can use this service in the same way.
You can use your existing telephone.
You can make and receive calls in the conventional way.
(When "SpinPhone for FLET'S" service is not available in the case of network trouble, you will need to add "0009" / "0000" to the beginning of the telephone number which you want to call.)
Please keep your existing landline since there are the numbers which you cannot call through "SpinPhone for FLET'S" Service.
One telephone per line is recommended.

The quality will be the same as a conventional telephone line; however, the quality of IP phone can be easily affected by your Internet environment. If you use IP phone service under the following conditions, the quality will be affected.
When Internet traffic is extremely high.
When the downstream speed for FLET'S ADSL/B FLET'S/FLET'S HIKARI NEXT/FLET'S HIKARI PREMIUM is below 500kbps.
During the heavy use period at night (about 11:00p.m. to 1:00a.m.)
When you are downloading large amounts of data via Internet.
When there is a protective device which affects ADSL connection, you may feel that the quality is degraded so much it's like being put on hold or disconnected.
When there are some appliances which generate strong electromagnetic waves around the telephone line.
Security is enhanced by UserID and password but cannot be assured completely since IP-phone uses IP Networks. Please use your landline for highly confidential calls.
