Setting for Telephony Adapter
< When you call between SpinPhones or IP-Phone provided by the affiliated ISP using SpinPhone
< When you call IP-Phone provided by the non-affiliated ISP using landline
< When you call a land phone through your SpinPhone
< When you call Cell Phone/PHS (using SpinPhone)
< When you call an International phone call using SpinPhone
< When you call special numbers which start from 1, Toll-Free Number, Navi dial and Dial Q2 (excluding "184"/ "186")
*If your ADSL line is TYPE2, you can not call these numbers.

The procedures to make a phone call
When you call between SpinPhones or IP-Phone provided by the affiliated ISP using SpinPhone

  1. Dial SpinPhone numbers starting with "050" of the party you are calling.
    050-****-****
  2. You will hear a beep-beep-beep-beep sound for the connection to IP-Network.
  3. You will hear a calling or busy tone.
  4. If you hear calling a tone, you can start using SpinPhone when the recipient answers the phone.

When you call IP-Phone provided by the non-affiliated ISP using landline
  1. Dial "0009" to use a land line and the number starting with 050 which you are calling.
  2. You will hear a calling or busy tone.
  3. If you hear a calling tone, you can start using a landline when the recipient answers the phone.
* If you are using an IP telephone-enabled modem/router provided by NTT, please dial "0000" in order to use a land line.

When you call a land phone using SpinPhone

  1. Dial the "area code" first even if you are calling a land phone in the same area.
  2. You will hear a beep-beep-beep-beep sound for the connection to IP-Network.
  3. You will hear a calling or busy tone.
  4. If you hear a calling tone, you can start using SpinPhone when the recipient answers the phone.

(If you set your modem or TA with the correct area code, there is no need to dial area code when you call a land phone in the same area)

When you call Cell Phone/PHS (using SpinPhone)

  1. Dial cellphone/PHS phone number 090(080)-xxxx-xxxx or 070-xxxx-xxxx
  2. You will hear a beep-beep-beep-beep sound for the connection to IP-Network.
  3. You will hear a calling or busy tone.
  4. If you here a calling tone, you can start using SpinPhone when the recipient answers the phone.

When you call an International phone call using SpinPhone

  1. Dial "010" (the prefix number for International call or "001" (the prefix number for KDDI) at the beginning of the telephone number which you try to call.

  2. You will hear a beep-beep-beep-beep sound for the connection to IP-Network.
  3. You will hear a calling or busy tone.
  4. If you hear a calling tone, you can start using SpinPhone when the recipient answers the phone.

The calling rate will vary depending on countries.

You can not use SpinPhone when you call countries below.
Please use your land line in this case.

Europe block countries: Mordovskaya, Oceania, Wake Island, Niuean, Midway Islands,
Africa block countries: Ascension Island, Republic of Guinea-Bissau
Republic of Seychelles, Saint [St.] Helena, Central America:Diego Garcia

  1. Dial "0009" to use a land line and dial "010" (the prefix number for International call or "001" (the prefix number for KDDI) at the beginning of the telephone number which you try to call.

  2. You will hear a regular calling or busy tone.
  3. If you hear calling tone, you can start using the land line when the recipient answers the phone.
* If you are using an IP telephone-enabled modem/router provided by NTT, please dial "0000" in order to use a land line.

When you call special numbers which start from 1, Toll-Free Number, Navi dial and Dial Q2 (excluding "184"/ "186")
*If your line is TYPE2, you can not call these numbers.

You can dial emergency numbers such as 110, 118 and 119 directly. Your call will be automatically redirected through your landline.

After making an emergency call, you will not be able to use SpinPhone for 3 minutes.

When you use Fax/Data communication

The quality might be degraded if you use these services through SpinPhone since SpinPhone is a best effort service.
We recommend you using your land line when you use FAX or data communication.

  1. Dial "0009" to use a land line and dial Fax number or Access Point Number.

  2. You will hear a regular calling or busy tone.
  3. When the destination FAX/Access Point Number answers the phone,you can start fax/data communication
